Leslie Bessey, President & Chief Operating Officer

Leslie is responsible for Gateway's Property Management operations across Canada. He works primarily from the company's Head Office with frequent travel to each of Gateway's corporate offices across Canada.  Leslie works extensively with developers throughout BC and Alberta and has been involved in all aspects of Commercial and Residential real estate development and property management. Leslie develops and instructs property management courses at UBC and is a member of the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia.  In his previous role as Director Property Operations, Leslie was Gateway's senior negotiator on all major service and supply contracts successfully securing cost-effective supplies and services for Gateway's clients.

Ken Axenty, Chief Financial Officer

Ken provides financial stewardship for Gateway through careful attention to the care and use of company and client funds.  He has worked diligently to adopt a risk management strategy to safeguard Gateway and its client base.  He is responsible for all of the accounting and computer technology functions.  Ken works closely with his Controller and Technical Support Administrator to lead Gateway's large team of accounting support staff.

Scott Ullrich, Chief Executive Officer

Prior to joining Gateway as Controller, Scott was a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte & Touche, where he specialized in auditing and consulting for a variety of real estate companies. He is the Past President of the B.C. Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management, a past director with the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, and an Instructor at UBC. Scott is the past president of the British Columbia Apartment Owners and Managers Association and is the Chair of the Property Managers Advisory Committee for the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver and is a Governor with the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia.

Maureen McMahon, Vice President, Human Resources & Administration

Maureen joined Gateway in early 2003, bringing over twenty years of human resources experience gained at both Starbucks Coffee Company and the Thomas Cook Group in Canada and the U.S. In this role, she is entrusted with aligning central human resources and administrative functions with Gateway's Mission Statement. Involved in all initiatives at Gateway that involve or affect their employees, Maureen's approach to her role is that she is charged with being an advocate for the employees, while remaining a partner to the business.

Deep Parmar, Controller

Deep oversees the client financial accounting systems and processes while also providing leadership and direction to the accounting team. She ensures the timely delivery of accurate financial reports to the client base and internal Gateway management. Deep also ensures that policies and procedures relating to client risk management are adopted and adhered to across the accounting function along with meeting legislative, compliance and regulatory needs.

Silvia Hoogstins, Director, Administration and Property Management

Silvia has been with Gateway since 1991. She is a CPRPM and is the past President of PAMA and is a current member of the PAMA Education Committee.   Silvia is on the Education Advisory Group for the Real Estate Council and participated on the Ministry of Housing and Social Development Strata Dispute Resolution Advisory Group.  Silvia also worked with the Sauder School of Business in development, updating and marking of Property Management course material currently in their curriculum.  Her experience in Property Management includes strata, rental, new development, commercial and co-operative housing.

Keaton Bessey, Director, Property Management

Keaton initially joined Gateway in 2012 after well over a decade in Service and Management in the Retail Food and Beverage industry and following a brief absence, rejoined the company in 2015. People and problem solving are his passions. This gives him the energy and creativity to dig deep and provide solid long term solutions to his Client’s biggest issues and be a great coach to his Property Management Team. He has a keen eye for detail and has developed a strong interest in Real Estate Markets and Wealth Building. This interest provides him the knowledge to guide his clients to build a strong foundation and long term success.

Sheryl Ullrich, Director Asset Management

Sheryl has been with Gateway since 1994. She is a Certified Professional Residential Property Manager (CPRPM). During her first 20 years at Gateway, she was a Property Manager specialising in multi-family rentals and condominiums. Currently Sheryl heads up our Asset Management division, providing investment analysis and performance monitoring on various client portfolios.

Shelley Wittal, Director, Property Management and Marketing

Shelley has been with Gateway since 2006. She brings with her 25 years residential, condominium and commercial management experience in Eastern Canada. In her current role with Gateway, she is responsible to provide support, development, leadership and supervision to the Property Managers and regional offices located in Calgary, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec. She also oversees Gateways corporate marketing, brand management and corporate website. In order to stay current with the demands of the industry, she is involved with several industry organizations and works hands on with each of the Property Managers to maintain the highest standards within the portfolio. Shelley's primary goal is to provide our clients with an extremely high level of service and achieve success for all properties in her region.

Dina Paulic, Administration Supervisor & Executive Assistant

Dina joined Gateway Property Management in 2009, however, has 23 years experience in both the corporate and sales industry in the administrative capacity. She started with Gateway Property Management as an Administrative Assistant and is currently the Administrative Supervisor for the Ontario, Alberta and Quebec regions. As the Administrative Supervisor, Dina is responsible for proving training to newly hired administrative staff; assesses the individual training needs of the administrative assistants, ensures administrative policies and procedures are being followed and oversees procedures with the administrative team to ensure standardization. Dina is a self starter, who is detail oriented with excellent problem solving and organizational skills.  

Craig Moore, Regional Manager, BC Interior

Craig was first a client of Gateway with his purchase of a condominium in North Vancouver in 2009. After working in the Vancouver area as a Strata Manager from that same time, he moved to Kamloops to work for Gateway in 2013 and then took on the position of Regional Manager in 2015. Craig brings with him many years of experience consulting to small businesses for accounting systems and also from working in the electrical and lighting industry through a family business and beyond. Now overseeing both Strata and Residential Property Managers, Craig combines his hands on experience in property management with his knowledge of contracting and systems to assist all staff serving Kamloops, Kelowna, Vernon, and the Kootenays. His goal is to solidify Gateway as a prime supplier of Property Management services to the many city and resort properties of the British Columbia Interior.

Cristiana Vlasceanu, Senior Property Manager

Cristiana is a licensed Rental Property and Strata Manager with more than 18 years of progressive experience in managing commercial, rental properties and strata communities. Over the past years, Cristiana has supervised and mentored property managers, providing direction and leadership to improve the client satisfaction as well as employee retention. She holds the international CPM designation (Certified Property Manager) with IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management) since 2003.  She is Past President of the IREM Board and has served as a Director on the Board for several years.  She is currently serving on the Education Advisory Group for the Real Estate Council.

Zoran Zugic, Senior Property Manager

Zoran is a licensed Property Manager with more than 20 years of progressive experience in managing commercial, co-operative, leasehold, rental properties and strata communities. Over past years, Zoran has mentored and trained property manager trainees and has provided overall property management direction and leadership through the development and interpretation of policies and programs. He holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation and is an active member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and the Real Estate Institute of Canada (REIC) and having served on the Board of IREM Chapter 50 for 4 years.

Eric Coronado, Senior Property Manager

Eric is a licensed Rental Property and Strata Manager with more than 12 years of progressive experience in managing commercial, rental properties and strata communities. Over the past years, Eric has mentored and trained property manager trainees as well as rental property and strata managers at Gateway. His responsibilities include providing overall property management direction and leadership through the development and interpretation of policies and programs, coordination of information flow and property management strategy to the Property Management Team. He holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation and is an active member of real estate industry associations including: IREM, REIC, BOMA and PAMA. He is currently the President of IREM-BC Chapter, and has been an active Board Member of this chapter for the past 4 years.
